About
Mince
DAWDLE-LESS IN MOTION AND SHAME-LESS IN GENRE-TASTING
From the basements and garish living rooms of Leeds come post-punk outfit Mince. Insecure and sleazy they may be, but deliberate in sound and soul, the surreal quintet succumbs to a heavy pastiche of noise - from Frankie Valli to The Wedding Present. With a contaminated pick and mix selection of ditties, you truly never know what you’re gonna get from Mince. The five-piece previously teamed up with Matt Peel (Treeboy & Arc, W.H.Lung) at the Nave for singles 'All I Ever Wanted, Was to Be' and '(Don't Forget) You Can't Swim'.
Their fifth single 'Sad Old Jumper' is the bands most recent instalment. "Sad Old Jumper is a paradox, angsty but defiant, structured but caustic. It tells of a story all too common, but far too taboo - the crushing reality of life past school gates, divorce and those caught in the crossfire. But it’s love that builds us up, even when it’s hell bent on tearing us down".
